APS of Person County

APS Logo1

The Animal Protection Society, Inc. (APS) of Person County is a non-profit organization made possible by dedicated volunteers! APS does not receive funding from Person County or any other governmental agency. We rely on donations from generous individuals, businesses, civic organizations, and our fundraising events.

Our volunteers are very passionate about rescuing animals in danger and placing them in to loving homes. We do not have a shelter! The animals we rescue are placed in foster homes where their medical needs are taken care of, they receive love and attention, and are socialized – teaching them how to live in a home setting.

Happy Hills Animal Foundation

Happy Hills Animal Foundation, Inc. is currently one of only two state licensed shelter facilities located in Randolph County, North Carolina. The other shelter is operated by the county. Although many great strides have recently been made to improve the adoption programs at the county animal control facility, the county shelter still remains over crowded with greater than an 80 percent euthanasia rate. For the past 35 years Happy Hills Animal Foundation, Inc. has provided shelter for the homeless animals of Randolph County and its surrounding areas. The foundation receives no government funding and is funded primarily from private donations and sponsorships.

Our mission is to furnish nutritious food, veterinary care, and love for the abandoned and abused animals that we shelter. We will find responsible loving homes for as many of these animals as possible.

Happy Hills currently has many wonderful dogs and cats still waiting at the shelter for their forever families to adopt. Read more about us.
